Planned Parenthood Arizona (PPAZ) just launched its latest out-of-home (OOH) campaign, strategically placed outside Glendale's State Farm Stadium to catch the attention of basketball fans.
As the NCAA's Final Four faces off on court, the nonprofit organization found a cheeky, albeit witty way for March Madness enthusiasts to consider birth control.
With nothing but bold text, the new billboard reads: "The ball's in your court. Vasectomies happen there."
This OOH signage is just one of many billboards from Planned Parenthood along the highway leading up to the stadium.
"Total game changer, get a vasectomy," another reads.
As the games bring together basketball enthusiasts, most of which are male, the OOH advertising campaign was meant to serve as a comedic yet thought-provoking way to let them know PPAZ had just launched new vasectomy services in Phoenix and Tucson.
Behind this latest initiative are PPAZ's Creative Communication Coordinator Jennifer Rivera and Marketing Manager Alison Swift.
Molly Gutterud, marketing and communications executive at PPAZ, expressed her joy working on the project through a LinkedIn post.
Why Focus on Vasectomy?
In light of recent developments in Arizona surrounding abortion and contraceptive laws, citizens have zoomed in on contraception options that cater to males.
Notably, abortion is also banned in the state once the pregnancy hits the 15-week mark, affecting an estimated 1.6 million women.
PPAZ's latest campaign aims to let Arizonians know that the solution they are looking for lies is prevention.
