Pinterest x WoW: Key Findings
Pinterest has teamed up with World of Warcraft to let players convert their aesthetic inspiration into live, custom in-game homes.
Happening ahead of the "Midnight" expansion, the partnership embeds Pinterest’s visual discovery tools directly into World of Warcraft’s new player housing feature.
This allows players and design lovers alike to use curated mood boards as inspiration for decorating virtual rooms.

From February 18, players could link their Pinterest accounts in-game, unlock a special Pin-o-Matic camera tool, and publish their creations back to Pinterest boards.
“This partnership spotlights how Pinterest guides aesthetics in every universe, showing up with inspiration at the exact moment players need it most,” said Louise Foley, director of consumer marketing at Pinterest Europe.
“We’re not only enhancing digital lives positively but also demonstrating how brands can build meaningful, creative integrations that communities genuinely want to engage with.”

Foley’s comment highlights Pinterest’s belief that its platform’s visual discovery, now with roughly 600 million monthly active users worldwide, is a powerful tool for creative expression and community building.
For Blizzard’s World of Warcraft team, the collaboration is about understanding the player creativity that has emerged around housing since the feature first launched.
“World of Warcraft players have already amazed us beyond our wildest expectations with their housing creations," said Holly Longdale, executive producer, World of Warcraft.
"Our partnership with Pinterest opens new doors for our players to not only share what they make with the wider Warcraft community, but it also allows them to inspire others and foster a burgeoning community of fellow creators that truly enables Azeroth to feel like home. Their home."

Ultimately, the campaign reflects how aesthetics and social sharing are becoming central to gaming culture.
It's a trend that Pinterest data highlights with soaring searches for design and gaming room setups across its platform.
How Pinterest Enters Azeroth
Players start by connecting their Pinterest account through the in-game browser.
This unlocks the "Craft Your World" achievement and the Pin-o-Matic Camera toy once authorized.
After capturing screenshots of their customised homes, players can post the shots directly to designated Pinterest boards tied to their accounts.

Additionally, the creative push is set to include a video-led reveal of the “Orc-itect,” an influencer character offering interior design advice across both WoW and Pinterest channels.
To make things even more exciting, there’s an in-person treasure hunt for fans around London, and players can unlock rare in-game items by completing themed quests.
Pinterest x WoW is a Lesson in Cross-Platform Integration
For digital marketers, Pinterest’s WoW brand activation teaches us how to introduce a discovery platform into unexpected spaces:
- Player housing content turned into shareable Pins demonstrates how integrating product tools directly into user workflows can spark organic social activity.
- Combining digital interactive experiences with physical activations, like the London treasure hunt, broadens audience reach beyond core channels.
- Connecting creative communities across platforms builds sustained engagement as players both showcase and consume user-generated ideas.
Last year, Pinterest ended 2025 with $4.2 billion in annual revenue, highlighting that its visual discovery tools still attract a significant creative audience.
Our Take: Is Gaming the New Mood Board?
Pinterest’s brand partnership with World of Warcraft shows that you don’t always need to push a product to earn attention.
Sometimes you just need to join the places where people actually express themselves.
Make no mistake, Pinterest x WoW is a collab I never saw coming, but it's one that just makes sense.
It's a campaign that joins two worlds where self-expression matters: home decor and player-made game worlds.
To me, it's an effort that's about giving players tools to turn inspiration into something tangible, shareable, and fun.
In other news, Oreo and Marvel teamed up for "Stuf of Legends," a limited-edition collab for fans of the cookie and the comic book franchise.
