Key Takeaways:

  • Shay Mitchell fronts OGX’s first global campaign, anchoring a science-driven push to solve hair damage for the 80% of consumers affected.

  • The Fixer campaign spotlights OGX’s Bond Protein Repair line, led by the new 450°F Heat Protect Spray, promising salon-grade defense.

  • OGX enters a $92.4M bond-repair market, competing with Pantene, Olaplex, and L’Oréal in the race to own science-backed hair repair.

OGX is turning hair repair into a movement, with Actress and Entrepreneur Shay Mitchell as the brand’s first-ever global ambassador.

In a new 360-degree campaign developed with Edelman, Mitchell stars as “The Fixer,” a sleek, problem-solving character brought to life by Mitchell.

The campaign anchors OGX’s push to spotlight its science-backed bond repair line, positioning the brand as a go-to for dealing with beauty struggles, such as styling, heat, and coloring.

Eight in 10 people are impacted by hair damage, said Andrew Stanleick, president, skin health and beauty, North America and EMEA at Kenvue. And so, through these efforts, OGX hopes to redefine what it means to fight hair damage.

"It has been our mission to not only address these concerns, but deliver real, effective repair solutions that lead with science," Stanleick said.

"We are thrilled to be working with Shay Mitchell as our first Global Brand Ambassador; her influence will help us continue to transform the haircare journeys of our consumers."

Trichologist and Beauty Expert Abbey Yung also appears in the campaign, lending her expertise in several spots. She explains why hair gets damaged and how to bring it back to life.

The OGX campaign shows an industry shift toward brands leveraging multi-layered campaigns that combine expert advice, practical education, and influencer recognition.

Inside the Spot

In the main TV spot, Mitchell steps into the Fixer persona — complete with an all-black power look and confident energy — as she diagnoses and “fixes” different hair emergencies.

"High-heat? Wet hair? AKA the straightener sizzle," she tells the woman.

Mitchell then whips out her trusted OGX Weightless Repair Mist, giving the woman's hair "non-stop damage protection."

The campaign also extends to social with the #DamageDetected content series, featuring dramatic before-and-afters, product demos, and tips from Yung.

At the center is the OGX Bond Protein Repair line, especially its new 450°F Heat Protect Spray, which promises salon-grade protection at an accessible price point.

Overall, the campaign presents a punchy and polished tone, positioning OGX as a trusted problem-solver in your haircare routine.

The Race to Own Hair Damage Repair

OGX is not the first to focus on bond-repair products. Pantene, Olaplex, and L’Oréal are also rolling out new products and marketing efforts in response to growing demand for damage solutions:

With the bond repair market projected to grow to $92.4 million by 2028 and 80% of consumers concerned about hair damage, OGX’s Shay Mitchell-led campaign enters a crowded but high-growth space — supported by science, star power, and timely positioning.
