Dutch alcohol brand Heineken, in partnership with full-service communications agency Publicis Toronto, is redefining the night out with the return of its Route 0.0 streetcar activation, offering a fun, alcohol-free alternative for party-goers.

For three weekends starting January 11, Toronto residents can board the branded streetcar at Richmond & Spadina and enjoy a live DJ set, free Heineken 0.0, and drop-offs at popular nightlife spots such as Queen & John and King & Portland.

The activation is designed to challenge the assumption that a night out must include alcoholic drinks for it to be enjoyable.

Heineken Canada Marketing Director Jose Casillas shared that the campaign reinforces the idea that fun and connection are possible without an alcoholic drink in hand:

“We know that choosing a non-alcoholic beverage often invites questions or assumptions about why you made that choice. Route 0.0 challenges the misconception that alcohol is needed for a fun and memorable night out.”

Publicis Toronto’s Vini Dalvi echoed this sentiment, driving the point home that “No alcohol doesn’t mean no fun.”

The Heineken Route 0.0 will feature DJ performances by ACE, Dre Ngozi, and SEB C.

Participants will also receive a wristband for complimentary Heineken 0.0 at participating bars.

The Route 0.0 activation is part of Heineken’s global "0.0 Reasons Needed" campaign, which aims to normalize non-alcoholic choices and break down societal stigmas around them.
