“Friends” stars Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer have a hilariously unforgettable reunion in the new Uber Eats ad for the Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl spot features a comedic twist on forgetting things, starring Aniston, Schwimmer, David and Victoria Beckham, Usher, and rapper Jelly Roll.
The commercial opens with Aniston being handed an Uber Eats delivery by a film crew member, who doesn’t know that service also delivers groceries.
“I didn’t know you could get all this stuff on Uber Eats. I better remember that,” the crew member said.
“Well, you know what they say, in order to remember something, you gotta forget something else. Make a little room,” Aniston replied.
And this is the entire premise of the “Don’t Forget Uber Eats” ad, as people are shown forgetting something important just so they could remember that “Uber Eats gets anything.”
Like how a man remembers that Uber Eats delivers office supplies, but forgets to wear pants to work.
Back to Aniston and Schwimmer, who played on-and-off couple Rachel Greene and Ross Gellar in 10 seasons of the still-popular comedy TV series. The two actors unexpectedly bump into each other at a film set.
As Schwimmer goes in for a hug, Aniston uses her Uber Eats bag to shield herself from the arms her “Friends” co-star, who she shockingly does not remember.
In classic Rachel and Ross interaction, Schwimmer is obviously bummed Aniston forgot about him.
It has viewers wondering if this could be the thing she forgot in order to remember that Uber Eats delivers groceries.
But the joke’s on Schwimmer as it was obviously a prank. “Like I could forget 10 years of my life," Aniston said.
Meanwhile, David and Victoria attempt to recall the name of Victoria's iconic girl group, the Spice Girls, with humorous guesses like “Pepper Ladies” and “Paprika Girls.”
Jelly Roll, who is known for his facial tattoos, is also confused about the “doodles” on his face, later on shouting, “It’s not coming off!”
"Whatever you forget, remember, Uber Eats gets anything," the ad reads.
The spot ends with Usher wistfully wishing to perform at the Super Bowl “someday,” despite the fact that he will take center stage for this year’s halftime show.
The campaign includes a separate 30-second teaser that playfully references a viral scene from "Beckham," where David interrupts Victoria while she describes her “working class” childhood, prompting her to "be honest" that her dad used to drive a Rolls-Royce.
It was also in this teaser that the Beckhams announced that “Jessica Aniston” will be joining them in the “Hockey Bowl” commercial.
