Ferrero wants adults to stop apologizing for loving Halloween as much as their kids do.
The brand has partnered with Alicia Carmody of "The Real Housewives of Rhode Island" to front its Adultoween campaign.
The initiative is grounded in Ferrero's own research showing 54% of American adults believe they deserve a dedicated Halloween night.
To add to that, 62% say the holiday belongs to grown-ups just as much as kids.
Carmody, known on the show for speaking her mind without a filter, was picked to embody that same directness.
"You're never too old to celebrate Halloween! So, this year, my candy jars are full, my dolls are on display, my costume is on, and Ferrero treats are right alongside my bag of crackers," she said.
"Partnering with Ferrero means showing adults everywhere that Adultoween is a VIBE!"
For Ferrero, the timely campaign caps three years of tracking the same shift.
"Adultoween started as an insight the Ferrero Group discovered and has grown into a cultural movement," said Chad Stubbs, CMO at Ferrero North America.
He continued, saying the brand is excited to see where this year's trends land and how Ferrero can "shape the way we engage and show up for our fans in bigger and better ways."
From Reality TV to Candy Jars
On Instagram (@aliciacarmodyri), Carmody gives fans a tour of her Halloween decor.
As viewers see candy jars stocked with Ferrero treats, the star runs a recurring "Hots or Nots" segment ranking what's worth celebrating this season.
Fans who join the conversation can enter to win Ferrero prizes, an early use of influencer marketing that leverages Carmody's personality and dedicated fan base.
The campaign also feeds Ferrero's own data pipeline.
The brand is fielding its third consecutive Adultoween survey, with full results due in October 2026.
The Halloween lineup behind it includes:
- Kinder Joy x Stranger Things Eggs
- Kinder Bueno Halloween Lay Down Bags
- Butterfinger Skulls
- Keebler Spookie Fudge Stripes
- Mother's Eerie Critters
All of the candies are available nationwide now.
Where Reality TV Meets Retail Data
The scheduling of Ferrero's campaign lines up with two sets of numbers pointing in the same direction.
Americans are expected to spend $13.5 billion on Halloween in 2026, including $2 billion on adult costumes alone, according to the National Retail Federation.
Meanwhile, 76% of Gen Z and 68% of millennials consume reality TV regularly, with authenticity outranking glamour as a purchase driver, per a Gold79 survey of reality TV viewers.
Three lessons stand out for marketers watching Ferrero pair a snack brand with an unscripted personality:
- Cast for candor and not just credentials: Carmody's audience was built on her unfiltered takes, so the campaign borrows credibility from that personality trait of hers.
- Let the platform carry the story: The Instagram tour and "Hots or Nots" series work because they mirror the format fans watch Carmody in.
- Feed the campaign with owned data: three years of Adultoween survey results give Ferrero a reason to keep talking about the holiday.
A recurring survey buys Ferrero a talking point every fall, and Carmody's feed buys it a reason for fans to check back weekly.
Our Take: What Is Ferrero Renting From Bravo?
Real Housewives has successfully convinced its audiences that adults deserve to indulge in public without apologizing for it, and it's done this season after season.
Carmody's candy jars slot into a show whose whole premise excuses that same behavior: women who want more and get it on camera.
Beyond Carmody's popularity, it's clear that Ferrero is buying into this premise that exists every week on the franchise.
This is exactly what makes this campaign harder for a rival to copy, since it lives inside someone else's show.
If this campaign turns out successful, we expect other snack brands to follow suit and look into reality TV's cast list once Ferrero's October survey results land.
