Coach has tapped American actress Elle Fanning to be the star of a new campaign introducing its Fall 2024 collection.
"Unlock Your Courage" seeks to amplify motivational stories that encourage people to choose self-expression over perfection.
Apart from Fanning, it also features a handful of new and old global ambassadors who will star in a series of short films directed by Camille Summers-Valli and photographed by Elaine Constantine, including:
- Charles Melton
- Nazha
- Storm Reid
- Jayson Tatum
- Kōki
- Youngji Lee
Each of the ambassadors carries the authenticity, courageous spirit, talent, and style that make them the perfect match for an expression-forward brand like Coach.
The latest initiative from the luxury brand marks a continuation of its ongoing "The Courage to Be Real" platform, inspiring audiences to express their true selves and the many sides that come with them.
It reflects how society today tends to be held back by their own strive for perfection.
By highlighting the benefits of self-expression and being vulnerable, the campaign hopes to help everyone break free from the idea of perfection and instead embrace their own identity.

Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers shares more about the idea behind the campaign, saying that his approach to "Unlock Your Courage" matched his design process for the Fall 2024 collection.
"We focused on the tension between something romantic and picturesque and something very real and spontaneous; a sense of the lived in but compelling aesthetic that typifies the spirit of New York.
Elaine's dynamic shots of our friends of the house all amplify that message of authenticity and the beauty that comes from embracing the imperfections of a well-lived life in well-loved fashion," Vevers added.
By featuring famous personalities across industries, the luxury brand utilizes influencer marketing to leverage its reach and propel the brand into current cultural conversations.
Beyond that, by carefully selecting its roster of global brand ambassadors, Coach can also reinforce its brand identity and cement itself as a force that champions self-expression.
A Dance of Courage
Fanning's Coach spot titled "The Audition" kickstarts with the 26-year-old actress in the waiting room, giving herself an internal pep talk.
"You got to be perfect," she thinks to herself.
Suddenly, her Coach Brooklyn Bag starts to move on its own, dragging and sending her up in the air as she holds onto it.

She starts to regain control of her bag, dancing in the direction her bag would move her.
The scene cuts to the audition room, where Fanning "unlocks her courage" in front of the judges.
The commercial ends with a confident smile from the actress, as the campaign slogan displays on screen.
In another spot titled "The Date," actor Charles Melton walks into a restaurant, before his Hitch backpack, like Fanning's bag, develops a mind of its own.
The bag then leads him to the kitchen and then the dining area, where he regains control of his bag the moment he gains confidence.
After unlocking his courage, he then sits in front of his date, as the spot ends.
Spots featuring Coach's other global ambassadors follow the same pattern in different situations.
Previously, the luxury brand dropped its first virtual collection in the popular game Roblox and social media platform Zepeto.
