Festival sponsorship is a battleground for beverage brands, and Aperol is claiming more ground this summer.

The Campari America brand is bringing its Aperol Day Club to Lollapalooza Chicago as an official festival sponsor.

It gives attendees a disco-inspired destination filled with music, cocktails, interactive installations, and prize giveaways.

"Campari America is thrilled to debut Aperol’s Day Club experience to festivalgoers at Lollapalooza," Allison Varone, Head of Marketing at Campari America, told DesignRush.

"Our goal is simple: to bring music lovers together to share the moment with an Aperol Spritz and experience our unmistakable energy all weekend long."

Aperol will also stage pop-ups along the Chicago River during one of the year's biggest music events.

The riverside spots put the brand in front of tourists and locals citywide, stretching a single sponsorship into a weekend-long experiential activation.

A Repeatable Festival Format

After its desert debut earlier this year, the Aperol Day Club now arrives at Lollapalooza with many of the same recognizable elements.

This gives the brand a repeatable format it can take to different events while adapting to each audience.

The experience also gives Campari America room to introduce more than its signature Aperol Spritz.

Alongside its flagship drink, visitors can sample Crodino during scheduled tasting hours, introducing a newer nonalcoholic offering.

"It's incredibly rewarding to introduce music lovers to Aperol's unmistakable energy," Varone said.

Located inside Cocktail South, the activation also features oversized floral installations, photo opportunities, and a dance floor with DJ sets from:

  • Jordan Martin
  • Tommaso
  • KINGINEESE
  • gurlfrnd

Treating the Day Club as a scalable brand asset gives Aperol a platform it can carry into future events while introducing new products or strengthening its core ones.

Italy's Most-Consumed Cocktail

According to Drinks International's 2025 Brand Report, the Aperol Spritz ranks as the No. 8 cocktail globally.

BVA Doxa research also identifies it as Italy's most-consumed cocktail during aperitivo occasions.

This kind of brand recognition gives Aperol a familiar product to introduce to international festival audiences.

This familiarity means Aperol walks into the festival crowd with a drink people already order, freeing the activation to sell the experience over the product.

The activation highlights how experience design influences brand preference even after a festival ends.

  • Recognition creates confidence. Brands should reinforce familiar products in new environments to make the trial feel natural.
  • Sampling reduces purchase barriers. Marketers should pair tastings with immersive experiences to increase product consideration.
  • Citywide activations extend attention. Brands should activate beyond venue boundaries to reach visitors throughout their entire trip.

A festival sponsorship only earns its cost once it becomes a repeat bar order, which is the real test of any marketing spend.

Our Take: Can a Brand Really Own a Color?

Orange has become a standout brand color for Aperol Spritz.

We now associate the hue with sunlit terraces and late-afternoon gatherings because the brand spent years applying the same visual language.

Lollapalooza adds another chapter by giving thousands of festivalgoers an environment where that color is the main identifier.

Logos, slogans, and mascots get treated as the strongest brand signals, yet Aperol shows that a single color can carry the same weight with enough repetition.

A festival drops this color in front of thousands at once, so brands have to make every second of exposure count.

Similarly, the brand teamed with Hilary Duff for the Lucky Me Tour, extending its social gathering message into live entertainment.
